Lighthouse Mission
Lighthouse Christian School exists to glorify God by providing Christ-centered education that will nurture students to become spiritually minded, academically versed, socially balanced, and equipped to make a positive impact in their community to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We know that God calls us to serve one another and build service habits in our everyday life.

LCS Service Opportunities
Lighthouse provides opportunities for our students to serve within:
A Global Perspective:
- Lighthouse partners with World Vision to sponsor and raise funds for Kenyan children in need.
The School:
- Students can serve as teacher assistants in classrooms.
- Students can serve in Middle School Leadership and help design and run school events.
- Students can help serve at school events like the family carnival.
The Local Community:
- Elementary grade levels partner with local charities like Northwest Furniture Bank for potential field trips and fundraisers.
- Middle schoolers focus on individual responsibility and building their identity focused on Christ and a heart to serve others. Community service hours are required to be completed on a quarterly basis.
Outside Service Opportunities
Community service hours should be focused on serving the local community through the church or other charitable organizations as opposed to household chores or random acts of kindness. The goal is to build a regular or consistent habit of serving others as a rhythm of life. Outside service opportunities may include:
- Local Church: Serving in the nursery or Sunday school, helping with landscaping, etc.
- Charitable Organizations: NW Furniture Bank, Fish Food Bank, Tacoma Rescue Mission
Middle School Community Service Hour Requirements
- Sixth Grade: Two hours per quarter
- Seventh and Eighth Grade: Three hours per quarter
